Old-time traditional tune, done clawhammer style on guitar.

Encountered this tune on the excellent Banjo Gathering CD, Bob Thornburg's version. Learned it today on guitar, so this version is a little rough and maybe swings too much, but I thought I'd share it anyway :)

Typically the kind of cd I can't order at a decent price here (France). Your music is really inspiring, played with the right kind of chops and (of course, that's more important) feeling. Thanks !

This is nice. Did you use banjo tuning?

Hi Johnny, almost - I used a C modal tuning: CGCGCD. if you drop that low C, you're left with something very close to double C tuning on the banjo (except that first G is tuned down low instead of high like it would be on the banjo).

nice, hades, that's cool to hear. I got some feedback that I'm throwing in an un-idiomatic IV chord in the A section (which I actually reversed and play second, as the 'B' part!), so I'm glad that didn't rub you the wrong way.
