March of the Rainy Days

Mississippi John Hurt- and John Fahey- inspired fingerstyle guitar tune.

Last summer I was at the Swannanoa Gathering in NC and was fortunate enough to take a class from Scott Ainslie on the music of John Hurt. The year before that, Robin Bullock taught a class in the music of John Fahey, and since there's a fair amount of overlap and I've been working on right-hand syncopation stuff, this song bubbled up. It's rough and needs more arranging, but I thought I'd share.

Excellent, as usual. It conveys the authority of their styles very well.

This is a keeper. I love it when you leave your porch and get on your bicycle at a minute and a half, ride warily by that slightly creepy guy, and get to your friend's porch right at two minutes in, playing all the while. I would definitely crash if I tried to do what you just did with ease there.

aww man, thanks umbĂș. I'm glad it sounds like I did it with ease, I've gotten it to the point of muscle memory (almost) but it was hard getting there :)
