You're So Dangerous!

March 27, 2017 7:58 AM

An upbeat ditty about falling in love, blah blah blah. Cobbled together during my currently-on-hiatus 52 weeks project. Inspired by Holiday-era Magnetic Fields.

Lyrics:

When I'm around you, nothing's as hard as it should be.
You grant me powers. I'm standing on top of the world.
I'm glad I found you; no one's ever been this good to me.
The universe is ours, as long as you are my girl.

You're so dangerous in your sweet and funny way.
You've got me thinking everything's gonna be OK.

You're so dangerous!

I'm on a bender and you're the drug that I'm taking.
You get me high and I don't want to come down.
I'm a repeat offender and your love's got me shaking. (Ooh!)
I touch the sky whenever you're around.

You're so dangerous (like a trampoline on fire.)
A perfect mix of all the things that I desire.

You're so dangerous!

You're so dangerous, na-na-na.

a) this is super catchy

b) "you're so dangerous, like a trampoline on fire" - a contender for best simile currently on the MeFiMusic frontpage

c) great ending

Well constructed 1980's pop with nice choice of instrumentation. I can almost picture the video getting play on MTV.

And that breakdown in the final third of the song is fun and unexpected, but it fits like a glove. And I like that the guitar solo at the end isn't hogging the limelight. It's like a second song in and of itself.

I love this and am recommending it now to someone who needs pop music to help cheer them up a bit.
