Challenge (Size: Regular) - A CHANGE WOULD DO YOU GOOD

I think a change (a change would do you good) would do you good (a change would do you good)

This is the short challenge, running January-March. Take a song which is awkward, irrelevant or problematic in some way and change it up. Beautiful melody but weird sexist lyrics? re-write! Classic tune but way too fast for you to enjoy singing? wind that tempo down!

There's an infinity of songs which I sing, hum, murder or homogenise for myself when I've got a quiet moment. Took me about a day's hard thinking to hit upon the then instantly obvious choice (which was something I already "fixed" when singing to myself) but I genuinely can't sing properly nor play an instrument at all, plus any tools I have on my laptop skew much more electronic than what I want to achieve. I'll have a go at lo-fi phone-recording and fancying up something, because I love music and I love songs and who doesn't? but I likely won't actually upload anything. Got a lot going on in real life and I'm making enthusiastic "maybe" plans left, right and centre to distract myself from strong Brexit, work and home worries over the next couple of months.

I'll set aside some time to give it a go and make sure I have fun trying thanks to this prompt. Little bit of sunshine, thanks. Let's do this!

So I have "Deadline for MeFi Music Change Challenge" on my calendar for today, and I unfortunately am gonna miss it. Not to be TMI but I have not been sleeping much because of a bunch of things happening IRL. That being said, I made some slight changes to one of my favorite trad songs (lyrically) and hope to record it. I'm working on a couple of collabs too. I'm commenting here because if I post this note publicly and promise to finish them all, it will help keep me honest...

Welp I posted a song where I made changes, but it's an old recording so I didn't feel right about tagging it for this challenge (where I wanted to record something new). Linking it here as sort of related though.
