When You Least Expect it

Second song in a 33 song, 3.5 hour project some friends and I have been working on over the past 14 months or so. The rest are here: http://henriettatoughlove.com/ https://archive.org/details/33Songs https://henriettatoughlove.bandcamp.com/album/33-songs-for-33-people

The poem Rob reads at the end is Guido Cavalcanti's poem #36, Marc Cirigliano translation:

wanting I send you certain poems
about my heart’s grave state
Love appeared as a dead figure
saying – I warn you not to send them

because if the friend is who I imagine
his mind won’t be ready
to hear of the injustice
i make you burn with

he won’t take such a large loss
as if his heart would leave him
as if he heard your ponderousness

and you well know I’m Love
for this reason I leave you my semblance
and carry away your thoughts

I enjoyed this a lot - there are a lot of quirky instrumental things going in the background.

Thanks! Quirky stuff in the background is definitely the vibe we were going for, except for the songs where it is in the foreground...

This is great. I really like the sense of space in the mix, the coexistence of tinkly sounds and heavier, overdriven sounds.
