This was a fun one to make. Basically one improvised take on a MIDI keyboard which is hooked up to 3 synths and drum machine, with a pad from a 4rd synth going on in the background. Piano and noise-wave crashes were added afterwards. Using the JX-8P as a bass synth for the first time and gotta say....not too shabby!!!!!!

I am using an Arturia Keystep to trigger my dad's old JX-8P via MIDI, as well my Korg Monologue using the CV outs on the KeyStep. The Monologue is in turn triggering my old Roland SoundCanvas which is set to the classic harp sample as always.

Meanwhile the Keystep is being controlled by my Korg S3 Drum Machine. I programmed a disco bassline on the sequencer of the KeyStep, and using the key trigger mode allowed me improvise a bassline on the JX-8P while keeping it synced to the drums and the arpeggiator part on the Monologue/SC-88. Using CV to sync the KeyStep and the Monologue resulted in some cool syncopations.

Background pad is from the JD-XA which I had set to a key hold while I played the other synths.

Thanks for listening!!!!
