I Spend All My Free Time on the Internet

Defense and confession wrapped in to one song. Let your freak flag fly.

From my RPM album. The website shoutouts are a pale, weird shadow of what I'd like to do if I ever do a high-energy remix of this: a dozen people shouting the names of these sites.

Lyrics:

I spend all my free time on the Internet
I check my mail
I check my mail

We read more websites than books
We steal our music like crooks
My wife gives me dirty looks
And who can blame her
But I am what I am

We keep our photos on Flickr
We use broadband cuz it's quicker
Go to Metafilter to bicker
And who can blame us
I am what I am

Oh I am what I am

ya rly.

(seriously, kudos. I'm waiting for this to download on my dialup -- ugh -- but I'm already fairly certain it will be awesome if prior work is a reliable indicator, and so far it has been.)

I LOL'd. For some reason, I can almost see this working as a cheesy eurodance song in the same vein as that damn Warcraft 3 song.

Someone's fishing for an intervention...

No, no, no. That's another band entirely.

Anthem for the web-addicted! This song makes me feel guilty somehow. Hmm.

Nice one cortex!

Like the Birminham Complaints Choir? 'Cause that would be awesome.

Awesome song. For that next, awesomer version? Handclaps. Also, maybe you go to a meetup sometime with recording equipment and get party-peoples to shout out for you?

Brought tears to my eyes. Yeah, it sucks not being able to do what's in your head, doesn't it?
