Little Brother's Had Enough

This track samples the (totally killer) acoustic riff from Grizzly Bear's "Little Brother". This song started off solely as a hip-hop track, but then I decided to leave in a portion of the original as a hook. The song now sounds like somewhat of a genre fusion... "Folk-Hop" maybe?

I heart Grizzly Bear. Yellow House was one of my favorite albums of last year and I've seen them live twice!

You should send this to them or something, as it's delightful. Perhaps Ed will mention it on the band's blog.

I had never heard Grizzly Bear and I'm glad you linked to them instead of just mentioning them. I'm blown away, thx a lot for the link.

And what you did with their song is really cool. I really like those "rhythmic cut-ups," I think that's my favorite style of sampling.

This is one of my fave tracks on the Grizzly Bear album. I keep passing them up when they play in town because I'm afraid I'll nod off in the heroin haze induced by their songs... but that's another story. I agree with phrontist that it sounds a bit like The Books, but that's a good thing. It really reminds me that I need to do that full-on hip hop album I keep meaning to do. Great stuff.

this just came up on my random playlist. i love the way it swings from one genre to another so nice, like stepping into a new room.
