Cool!
I have to send this to my brother.
Several years ago he took the huge wooden banister from an old house he was living in in University and put a pickup on it and strung it with 6 E strings. He played it onstage a few times; it's like 10 feet long and just makes this enormous whiney drone when you play it with a bow.
But it's more for show, I guess you'd say. Artists.

Far out, baby! Ok.....here's a new challenge. A few of us make various versions of the Diddley-Bow (alto, tenor, soprano etc) and we record a track exclusively featuring the instrument. Obvious choice would be a version of "Who Do You Love" or "I'm A Man" - By Bo Diddley and the Diddley-Bows. Naturally, I'm kidding.... .

Using the transceiver out of a telephone was pretty brilliant. However, I see your string-and-tin-can-ophone and raise you a balloon bass.
