Dust Samples

Back on the horse! Here's a song I wrote and recorded tonight. The idea was a laid-back, french café sort of sounding tune. It's about interstellar exploration.

Lyrics:

At its closest, Saturn is
1.2 billion miles from Earth
I know I will never go there

It's not for lack of ambition
I just don't think our propulsion
will be advanced enough in my lifetime

Future generations will look back
and wonder why we waited
why our hatred was so concentrated
here on Earth.
We could have been out there too.

But if I had the chance
I'd collect dust samples to analyze
and tell me what the hell this stuff is made of.

Yeah if I had the chance
I'd take ten photographs
blow 'em up, put 'em on my wall
to show my friends that I have been there.

Future generations will look back
and wonder why we waited
why our hatred was so concentrated
here on Earth.
We could have been out there too.

Thank you! You know, Ze Frank's recent harping on FILDI and cortex's LoFi Computer really combined in a powerful pill. The result is I'm digging the idea of just getting the idea out fast, editing some, and posting. Not tweaking stuff to death, etc. This one went from non-existent to written, recorded, posted in about 2.5 hours. I'm gonna try and do lots more. Just get back in the swing!
