Buckley's, or Green Corn Jig

July 11, 2013 5:37 AM

A quick multitrack with fretless tackhead banjo, tambourine and bones. From James Buckley's "Buckley's New Banjo Method", 1860.

I wanted to see how feasible it is to sync video recorded on one device with audio recorded on another; I recorded video of the banjo track on my desktop while recording the audio on my phone using FourTrack (where I then added the banjo and bones).

Syncing everything up is doable with iMovie, but pretty clunky. I'm sure it would be much easier with actual video editing software.

Yeah, man, great! This has that minstrel-era, medicine show sound and feel DOWN! Good work!

Yup, what a cool sound. I really dig these recordings.

Beautiful! And plus, manages to sound fun just like a jig should be!
