Perfect Martyr

One of my bands, The Man So Cool, did some recording a couple weeks ago for a demo disc. We're still working on final vocals and proper mixes, but this is a pretty good rough mix of one of the songs. Links to the other three songs can be gotten over yonder.

I'm playing keyboard in the band (on a very nice full-size weighted keyboard that would be perfect if the high Eb key wasn't broken).

Song written and sung by long-time cohort Brian Rozendal [see also: engineering experiment, collaboration, previous band], who is also the guitarist; Terry on drums and Nate playing bass.

Embarassing disclosure: I have no idea what most of the words to the song are. When I don't sing, I don't learn words.

No need for embarassment, cortex, you are certainly not alone. In my experience, musicians rarely pay much attention to the lyrics... it seems to be the norm. I've worked with one or two over the years that are the exception, but definitely the exceptions that proved the rule.

It's good to know the title to this song, finally. It's got a good bouncy feel to the verse. I also like the sound of the recording. The person did a good job for a demo.

Yeah, Chandler The Engineer seems to really know his shit and did a great job—especially for a late-starting, disorganized one-Saturday session. We found him through our drummer, I think, who seems to know approximately everyone in Portland. Definite asset, that.
