Cuz I rap like this. by snsranch

This is my son "rapping" to original music that we made together on a Korg Triton LE. I don't think the levels are normalized and after he finishes rapping it just drones on. It's cute, and the background music isn't bad. It's funny because the music is really morose and dark but there's a little kid voice working it. Enjoy.

joe's last mix by LooseFilter

And Now For Something Completely Different: This is a piece of concert music, played by a large ensemble of instrumentalists. I'm a conductor, and I often collaborate with young, up-and-coming (and often quite brilliant) composers, by commissioning new works and premiering them. This is one such piece, played by one of my university ensembles. joe's last mix, by Tanner Menard (who mainly composes computer/electronic works), uses as a point of departure the ways the DJs construct mixes--this generates the large-scale form as well as some of the ways he manipulates the musical motives.

(My favorite moment is either the Latin-esque groove about 3:30 in, or the amazing transformation of texture about about 4:30.)

It's an unusual piece, that I think rocks, and I'm very interested in your feedback--what do you think of these sounds? (Also, I recommend headphones--there's a lot of ear candy going on in there!)

Bagel on the Malecon by barmaljova

A very New York-bred outlook at old-time Cuban music, recorded entirely with .. violas! This was my attempt to create asymmetrical but memorable melodies, clear textures crammed with material, and experiment with multitrack viola as a concept, an ensemble. The sound of the classic Cuban bands had all that - except the violas, that is. This track appears on my newly released CD, the VJOLA: WORLD ON FOUR STRINGS

In the Rain by chococat

Written last year for the sole purpose of having an easy, super-poppy song to learn to play the crappy used drum kit I had just bought in Kensington Market.
This song wanted to go in a Beatle-y direction, but sadly I think it came out sounding more like The Oneders.
It is what it is.
