This is my messy pop-rock interpretation of mikepop's excellent parodic adaptation of the old murder ballad "Darling Corey", which this sounds basically nothing like. [more inside]

Not as current as a balloon boy song, but hey...I wrote it after being at the gym and seeing Joe Wilson on every TV news channel. It's pretty 'topical', I think. Think of it as a love song between Joe Wilson and Obama. [more inside]

Culted was conceived after watching a special on Mass Murderers.
An industrial sound with cinematic undertones and a touch of electronica.

On this Day of the Dead, I bring you this festive reminder: no matter where you run, no matter where you hide, the Grim Reaper will catch you. He'll also catch your cat, he'll catch your dog, he'll catch your goldfish; he's gonna get us all. [more inside]

Recorded in response to the way we punish women who fight back against abusive partners.
there are many examples of Women speaking up in opposition to violence by partners... but in My experience it seems men often try to argue (ignoring the facts and statistics) that "women are 'just as' abusive"

Featuring, in thier MeFiMu debut, the three resident witches of the Dundee household - the High Teas (geddit?). We're anticipating a call from the Royal Shakespeare Compnay any time about now....... so - Mirren, Dench et al - feel the fear...

It's been way, way, way too long since I posted any music here, or in fact recorded anything. Anyway, it's always rough starting back up, but always a little interesting. Here's a song I was planning on submitting for the monthly challenge, but apparently I am unable to make scary music. [more inside]

I don't know what's scarier: re-imagining your favorite early-60s Halloween novelty record sounds as Garageband "dub," a full MIDI trumpet section, or the slug people who overtake the vampires late in the song. (You'll know it when you hear it.)

Does covering the ending theme of a Japanese horror movie count as a scary song for this month's challenge? Well, I'm posting it anyway. The only thing scary is thinking I can singing like Van Tomiko.

I am re-posting this at the suggestion of another user, this time with lyrics included. This and others are available here.
Looking at Wiches
Some say they're having a pretty good time
And they're working on quitting this town.
Everything's working out fine for me.
You should see the way I get around.
Like a dry drunk
Down at the mall.
Looking at watches,
He feels something crawl
Out of a memory
He has of a girl.
Looking at witches,
Down at the mall.
And ain't we got friends that are long ago gone
and that's all that we want them to be?
Nothing but nothing
And nothing alone
Could make them mean nothing to me.
Sometimes in winter
you get to go home.
You get to dress darkly.
You hang up the phone.
You walk home from Pittsburgh
With one thing in mind.
Sometimes in winter,
you leave things behind.
And we miss when you sing
Those old country songs.
We get them for free around here,
but we don't keep them long.
Because we can't keep them long.
