I realized yesterday it'd been a while since I'd posted anything, so I dug through the Garage Band archives last night, and found this ditty I tossed together a couple years ago. I got the original groove by taking a pre-fab midi drum track, and assigning the notes to a clavinet patch, and it grew from there. It started out cheesy, so I gave in to the cheese, and threw in some lounge organ. All the percussion is GB midi crap, but that's me on the bass, the piano and the Hammond Organism. (Warning: IANAHOP) The vibe kinda suggested the title. Grab your smoking jackets, ladies and gents!

An unapologetically cheesy Michael/Janet Jackson style 90s epic pop song. I just got a new main synthesizer (Yamaha Motif XS) and per tradition, when I get a new piece of gear, I write a new "demo song" with it. Everything you hear is coming out of this insane keyboard in one pass, no external processing! DON'T hit play if you're opposed to sugary Teddy Riley style swing, you'll be nauseated. I'm an equal opportunity nostalgist! :(

This might be the first song that directly references a question in the green. I recorded this a few years back as a present to my mum. (The talented Mr Matt Evans added the scritchy-scratchiness.) This is the song as I remember my mum singing it to me. The only difference is that my Mum sang it in a lilting Scouse, whereas I tend to intone it pretentiously. BTW: My question in Ask still stands. I'd love it if anyone knew this song - or anything like it. I fully intend, one day, to illustrate the song as a children's book, sell millions and retire to a caribbean island to kill myself slowly with daiquiris. You have been warned.
