I recorded this montage while talking with MMM over the telephone. (Pre-Beasties, 'circa '97.) He and I were both into outer space funk, and we talked a lot about sound and space alien movies. With Mike on the phone, I pulled out records he named and recorded them using a Realistic tape deck with tape over the heads to turn it into a two-track. It was juiced session. The results have passed the test of time.

Mix Master Mike frequently samples the intro to Killing In The Name for his sets. I decided to sample the outro, where Zach de la Rocha is yelling "ALL OF WHICH ARE AMERICAN DREAMS". The bass line is spliced out of Evil by Interpol since Carlos Dengler has got some crazy tone. This is a pretty slow jam, so it borders on the line between hip-hop and dance. Enjoy.

As per request, this is the track that immediately follows Au Courant. The speaking is samples from a beat poem by Burroughs and the rhymes are mine. This is one of those songs that you toy with for months before you're happy with it. I am also struggling with the levels so any assistance would be much appreciated! (work-in-progress)

The Reddish Egret by ageispolis

Egret's (of the Reddish variety) are musically inspiring. This track is divided by two tempo changes (see if you can spot them!) and is thus in three parts. I figure a bird as cool as the Reddish Egret deserves a musical trilogy. Also, the high-pitched vocal sample is actually a rendering of the last note Thom Yorke sings on the opening track of The Eraser.
