Oh, man, what is going on in your rhythm section? I love it, I want me some!

Very charming! Like most all of your stuff, this has a very tactile quality which is quite appealing. There's a certain kind of grit in your sound, a nice warm grit. That sounds odd, though, warm grit... I can't quite articulate it right now. Anyway, this is real nice.

Just wondering, what's the vibe of the lyrics, for us gringos?

It's a relief to hear good opinions. I don't know why this song doesn't quite "convince" me and I can't judge it objectively. That's why I decided to post it here.

And funny you chose the word "tactile". The "percussion" is actually me beating the sides of a snare drum with my fingernails.

This song started, I kid you not, as a vallenato kind of thing. I never could sing it properly and so it gradually became a more "intimate" thing, though it kept some of the rhythm, though not a vallenato rhythm.

The lyrics, in which I tried to go with the country (campesino) feel, only say:

'In the town square I ran into Jorge Silva, who said:
"I smoke a little, almost none,
and I don't drink as much as I should"

"I used to have a woman of my own,
but she never really had me.
I'm in a lot of pain,
and so much pain is almost none,
I don't cry as much as I should."

Believe me, they don't sound as bad in Spanish.
And now, to finish this Encyclopedic volume on the song, the lyrics in Spanish, with chords!!!!

I really agree about the warmth of this. The production reminds me of those songs where Tom Waits records out in a field and you hear roosters in the background. It's just so organic and nice. Very playful and sunny atmosphere to it, nice stuff. The lyrics seem really interesting, too.

The comment about being tactile is right on, but I'd like to add organic to the description. Your music seems to have it's own life, which makes it much more than just a listening experience. Very cool man!

Hey thx a lot, snsranch. I hope than by "more than a listening experience" you don't actually mean "torture."

And sorry for the double posting of the lyrics above, I was doing some test to see if we could make the chord appear where it should on top of the lyrics without the underscore I used the first time around.

You should release an album. Really.

Torture! Hahah! I forgot to thank you for the chords, I can't wait to play along.

edlundart: wow. I'm glad that a song of mine made you think of Tom Waits (for whatever reason). And yeah, that song with the rooster (it's Chocolate Jesus, innit?) blows my mind every time I listen to it. Thx for that.

phrontist: That is awfully nice of you. I think that's actually the nicest compliment I've had here.

And you know, releasing albums would be hard for us, since each member of the band lives in a different country and so we've chosen to "release" our music through our website, for free. (You'll find the songs in the "Canciones" section, I have yet to do the English version of the site)

However, at the end of last year we did this. That link downloads a 64 mega .zip file with 18 songs and a little cover with the track listing on the back. Feel free to download, and I hope you enjoy it if you do.
