Shoulda Been About Cupcakes

And it woulda been, if I coulda thought of any decent lyrics on that sugar-laden theme. As it is I'll backdoor this MeFi Music Challenge entry with a reference in the title. (Though I think I get the "brisk" tag legitimately.)

It's a great little ditty although I'd really like to hear some lyrics in there. It'd be a neat rueful country song... "I wrote this song about your eyes...I wrote this song about your lips...it shoulda been about your cupcakes. They're so perfect, they're so round, they're the tastiest I've found -- the kind of cakes that make men's hearts break."

I really like that four-chord progression that first shows up at :47 (and a couple of other times more, including the close). If it was me, I'd drive that bit right into the ground.

I'll admit I copped out on lyrics and a vocal track. It's happened to me a couple times trying to put together a music challenge entry, just didn't have the inspiration on the subject matter at hand. There's always next month...

And a lovely present it was, one I expect to see round these parts soon. Funny thing is, I was going to suggest that Karlos expand on what he wrote here and record it, but ya beat him to it!

As it happens, I'm catching up with the songs uploaded while I was away, so I'm going from "most recent" thru the older ones, so I discovered the one with vocals first. But now everything makes sense. I can see what pushed es_de_bah into recording the vocals, this is a great ditty.
