I'm a Little Airplane

Jonathan Richman cover, as learned from They Might Be Giants.
Yesterday was my birthday, and my dad bought me a new microphone, so I'm breaking it in a little bit. I blew the levels in a few parts, but it's just a quick 'n dirty thing.

The mic is one of these. It's my first condenser mic, and boy oh boy is there a world of difference.
Corduroy, my old guitar teacher used to be able to sing guitar solos in this falsetto "byooo byooo" with tremelo and everything. That was skill. I just like to make weird noises with my voice all day, so even though I'm not the best singer, I like to think there's something interesting in the performance. And if it's growl you're looking for, I've got a Tom Waits cover planned, so stay tuned.

Hell yes, life ain't the same after a condenser mic. When I started using one I would stand in front of it and marvel that I could hear my hands in the backpockets of my jeans, it's amazing all the sound they capture. I miss my condenser mic a lot.
What Tom Waits song are you planning?

I've got a few in mind, I haven't quite decided yet whether I want to to a brawler, bawler, or a bastard. It would be fun to do one where I really get to belt it out.
You know, nobody's issued me a cover challenge yet...

From those albums "Little Drop of Poison" or "Walk Away" would be a real treat. Just suggesting, though, I have my request ready for you, but I was waiting till I got together enough requests for different people. Perhaps I should just post the ones I have already.

Now, if you want to really belt out, Jesus Gonna Be Here is the one, I think, though it's not in those albums.

To clarify: I'm not really talking about the orphans album specifically. Tom said that there's only three kinds of songs in the world: Brawlers, bawlers, and bastards. That's more what I was referring to.

Personally I would go the bastard route. But that's just me.
Nice song.
