Correct My Obituary

It is said that I was kind
but those who say so lie
so I interject to add
it's truer to say than to be said
I'll stage my own death, see if I won't
return with a red pencil, see if I don't,
in my right hand to correct my obituary
Won't go back to my grave until necessary
It's heard in certain parts
I was into heart-to-hearts
so I turn my pencil's lead
to wield the eraser instead
