River Rise

A song that was sort of spontaneously written just over ten years ago. One of my sad songs about water.

This came out of an evening/weekend music-making session that I attended at my friend Dan Buzzo's place at some point in the late 1990s. There were synths and drum machines going, and at one point I step up to a mic and improvise several verses. Dan edits it down and posts it on MP3.com I download it from MP3.com and learn it.

I uploaded it to my website today in a slightly longer form - more of the drones at beginning and end - but this has been edited to under 10mb.

Truly beautiful. The drones satisfied my Brian Eno complex, and the overall structure, the mix, and the performance itself, well...simply gorgeous, really.

I really liked that.
