Christmas in July

September 5, 2013 11:05 AM

bouncy, spiky little ditty about getting away with murder. Part of a series I'm working on. I'll post the other one tomorrow if y'all enjoy this one.

It was the day just before Christmas and i was waitless and certain in a New Hampshire hotel room with locked the door and drawn curtains, waiting for you.

There's no such thing as a sure thing. At least I think that's what I've learned. But with time and good behavior, miracles we tried to earn.

And what we wanted, you know we got it. A couple bad kids sneaking onto the good list. So cut your hair off. I sold my gold watch and we could run off with the money in our fists.

I guess someone got my letter. Guess i'm doing what i should. I don't think I could do better because there's nothing half as good.

Let the ac kiss our bare skin. We laid and surveyed the wreckage: sheets strewn round like wrapping paper on the day after Christmas.
