North Korea Goes Bang

November 28, 2013 3:45 PM

A brief, throwaway cover of Johnny Violent's '90s Gabba classic North Korea Goes Bang for this month's 60 Seconds and Under MeFi Music Challenge. Over 9000 hours in MS Paint Audacity.

Daft, fragmentary notion that originally came to me for May's "cover a song from one era in the style of an earlier one" challenge, but which I couldn't make anything of. Obviously I can't sing, the Cole Porter-inspired thing I was aiming for is almost entirely in my head and I should really have tweaked everything a lot more, but you get the idea.

Shouts and apologies to Johnny Violent, the nation of North Korea, Cole Porter, www.freesfx.co.uk and anyone who wants those twenty-two seconds of their life back.

Ha! First song I've ever heard where a slide whistle adds to it rather than detracts.

This channels the best of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band and Monty Python's silly records. Along the lines of "I Like Traffic Lights".
