Oh For Certainty

I really love JJ Cale - I'd like to think he would have enjoyed this quick song I wrote about our home in southern California, fate and love.
His songs had a bouncy swagger to them, but still very laid back, simple tunes and melody - although his guitar playing was deceptively easy sounding.
In keeping with Cale, i stuck to a basic Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge-Solo-Chorus form, tried to keep the arrangement simple but, as usual, probably probably threw too many things in the pot. I'm working on this.
But...it was really fun just to let go and play some damn guitar. Hope you enjoy!

Wow, what a package. You nailed the Cale-ness, it has all the lilt and drive and hidden depth. Great writing, arrangement, playing and vox, as well as mix/production. Love the lyrical solo. Tempo is about 15bpm higher than I'd expect or play myself, and it really benefits from it -- totally drives it onward past the phone poles and dusty fields and low mountains in the distance. Really enjoyed this.
