Rubio Out and Show Them
March 4, 2016 2:06 PM
This is a cover of both Lil Friendy's Marco Rubio (discovered via MetaFilter) and of Steve Reich's minimalist classic Come Out.

Whoa. That is a lot of sorting!
Furthermore, I have only just started listening to Steve Reich and haven't touched his earlier stuff yet. I don't know yet if your song here encourages me or dissuades me.
Heh, so I made my family listen to this in the car and then listen to Come Out. They were pretty indifferent! I probably wouldn't have listened to either this or Come Out myself had I not had to do so in a class. It's a very good experience (Come Out, that is), if you have 13 minutes to just sit and listen sometime.

Indifferent, eh? I have had "Mar-co Ru-bi-o, Marco Rubioooo!" on continuous loop in my head for about four hours now. ThanksObama ignignokt!

Wow. This is really weird. My favorite part is the outro.

I actually think it sounds really fun to play tape loops.

Me, too! I've always want to do phase experiments with actual tape, at least once.
ageispolis, I had to do it harmonic minor. In straight-up minor, it doesn't sound like it resolves!

This was a great experiment/statement. Don't do it again.

Someone needs to play this song in the Inchindown abandoned oil tanks. [example]

No, there is no way you could get me to listen to the whole track.
But, It is fun to skip around from part to part to hear how stuff progressed.
And, I am glad I listened to the last minute and a half.

And lastly, I should check back in to see what Lil' Friendy's is doing. I never saw Hanibal so I tuned out around then.
Thank you for making this. Have you seen the thing where someone recut the entire Wizard of Oz so that the spoken script and credits are in alphabetical order? THAT, I'm watching, but in little 5 minute doses.
