03 working in the jungle - vampire deer

song 3 of birdie

i've been working in the jungle all my life
i've been working in the jungle all my life
get tied up in traffic on portage and vine
they buried tarzan for too much oil
got a cobra union card, a marmoset grill
and a hunger only jesus can fill
get away, get away, get away, get away

i've been shopping in the jungle all my life
i've been shopping in the jungle all my life
buy a piece of junk here buy a piece of junk there
get some personally tailored underwear
get a throne in my head that can't be put in a home
and a pair of drums for a telephone
get away, get away, get away, get away

i've been running through the jungle all my life
i've been running through the jungle all my life
run through the freeway, run through the times
run through the tiger striped five and dime
run in circles and when i'm through
they make me run backwards, that's what they do

Put early Ween, Robert Fripp, and Public Enemy in a blender, and hit the "Purée" button, and then pour it into a plastic jug, and let it sit in the sun all day, maybe even for a week, till it gets really wierd and funky. (You posted this on my birthday!)

I love your beats, p.t. Furious guitar is bright and biting, with Andy Summers intensity but your own phrasing. Vocal layers are vivid and rattling. There's something in the phrase 'a marmoset grill' that's particularly satisfying rhythmically and semantically.

Doomin' and zoomin' and frantic, checking back over your shoulder as you flee the scene.
