Like Math

The finished version of a song I posted back in February. Way louder this time around. Just thought y'all might be interested in hearing how this progressed once I got real drums, bass and guitar on it. It feels like I recorded that original demo at once yesterday and a million years ago. More of this kind of thing here.

This is great (is it un-cool to say it rocks?) - please consider posting the lyrics.

The boy asks me if I'm happy
And last night's drink sticks its thumbs in my eyes
Asks me if I'm happy at 6 AM
I say "of course I am"
Of course I am

The boy tells me that he's happy
And yesterday's faults don't mean anything at all
Maybe they won't, not tomorrow, not today
But faults can grow until they spiderweb away

It's a lot like math
It's only getting harder

I fell down the basement stairs
Three years old, tumbling head over ass
And no one rushing to my side
No idea why I remember that

Love the early Bowie delay on the vocals. Lean and pure and unfussy and rollicking. Clarified guitar work and sonics. Surging drums. Effective stereo manipulation. Thoughtful and raw at the same time.

It rocks. :)

But faults can grow until they spiderweb away

And interesting lyrics all through the song, with strong imagery -- this line was just one of a few that stood out. I like the contemplative nature of the verses all around.
