Postcards From Nowhere

This is one of the first songs I've written--a new wavey pop song about a girl who's in love with a guy who may or may not be a serial killer. The song is an exaggerated account of a long-dormant toxic friendship; I was inspired by the Enigma Variations compilations, as well as the podcast My Favorite Murder and the urban legend of Debbie Harry and Ted Bundy.

My resolution this year was to write an original song every week, starting on my birthday and ending on my next birthday. I'm posting these songs on YouTube and will be ripping the audio and posting them here as well.

As someone who enjoys various Elgar compositions, I have to admit this caught my eye. Your combined sources of inspiration for this song certainly make for a unique group!

I hope you're still writing original songs -- from this recording I know you can sing with volume and clarity -- there were a few spots where I had a hard time hearing the lyrics, though. Would you be able to share the lyrics?
