Dot of America (Demo)

I raced against the clock to finish this one before 2017: a song-journey on the Westbound Twin Cities Hiawatha train between Chicago and Minneapolis, operated by the Milwaukee Road from 1935-1971. [more inside]

Music to soothe the soul of the savage

I've recently started building a playlist of quickly produced lofi recordings of live performances of what I'm calling "Creeper Ballads," covers of songs from the POV of problematic or unreliable male narrators who are either unrepentant creeps or who might be. The project is therapeutic for me, a way to vent unruly emotions and manage the stress of the ongoing political crisis and social breakdown in the U.S. and other painful setbacks I've been facing in my personal life. There must be others out there who've been making music to cope? Share and discuss what you've been doing creatively as therapy with the rest of us here. Red Rider themes

For a storytelling project, I made six variations of a three note motif, to represent the personalities of six different characters. Each little theme is less than ten seconds long, so even when I put all six of them together it adds up to less than 60 seconds. I hope to post the whole project someday, but at least this version counts for the November Music Challenge!
