Ringfinger (by Nine Inch Nails)

This was my submission to a project in which various artists covered songs from Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate Machine using at least one circuit bent or modified instrument (Soundcloud link). This one uses a reklus-modified Korg DDD1 and Monotribe (along with a sweet ring modulator he built).

The Flank of Bridenstein

I had a bit of fun with this: it's about a relationship gone wrong. I believe that the dual bass part is rhythmically interesting. Double bass and synth bass rhythmically intertwine and are coupled with a synth trumpet. There may be some Brian Eno influences a la The Drop. My album is available for $5 download at CD Baby: The Dividing Range. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/theseedsofautumn

[unfinished and untitled]

This song has been sitting around for most of the past year or so, unfinished and untitled, waiting for possibly a little more instrumentation (it's definitely a missing electric uke solo), some lyrics, and a re-recording of the drums with a real kit. I'm not good at playing fake drums. [more inside]

Brain in a Jar

I've been working on this song for the past few months. This is the result of my trying to write something sad. Unfortunately, my recording computer died last week, so some bits final mix came out sounding a little more sloppy than intended as there were a couple things I wanted to re-record. Also, I'm terrible at writing second verses.

Mnemosyne (It's autumn in the country I remember...)

A tango-influenced setting of a hundred year-old poem by Trumbull Stickney, "Mnemosyne" is the title track of our new CD, recorded by Ljova and the Kontraband (music by Ljova, sung by Inna). Mnemosyne is the Greek goddess of memory, and this is a song of nostalgy and of memories that turn color like autumn leaves yearning for rebirth with a vibrant song in the spring.... We've long been looking forward to sharing this song with you all. [more inside]
