Worry About The World (cover/mashup)
This is a cover of a song my dad wrote (that I actually found via combing through his post history on Metafilter after he died) [more inside]
Nightmare Tunnel
Loops of slow disorienting guitar noises, and other sound wierdness. Sections fade in and out of one another, building and cresting. I picture it akin to an adult version of riding on Willy Wonka's fucked-up boat ride. [more inside]
crashing is not safe
I got in a car crash about a month back. No one got hurt but it was still kind of scary (I had my 13 month old in the car and she was screaming and crying) and afterwards, it was really depressing/distressing. It was really hard to get to work and I couldn't go anywhere and then there's the money I had to borrow to fix the car. [more inside]
Oxidising Base Metal
Minimalist guitar piece. All one guitar. Imagine a tractor factory at night
Saturrrrn
Playing around with Saturn's Radio Emissions.
My Sister the Giant
I'm doing an album this month, and this is the first thing I've recorded for it. I think the album will be mostly or completely instrumental, but we'll see. [more inside]
in memories
A collaboration with non-mefite Riadsala, who sometimes records bass for me. This is a pretty strange track, with a lot of effects going on, with a weirdish tempo change into the chorus which is backed by something in the vein of guitar shredding. [more inside]
i am a bear and i am asleep
rambling RPM Challenge song.
Evan (5)
A simulation of stereotypy.
untitled (three stars mix)
I just noticed the music section here and decided to toss this up for a little feedback. It's the first cut I did with a new trio, and we're still trying to decide what direction we should take: get crazy composing for the studio, or write simpler stuff that can actually be performed by three people. So far the studio stuff seems to hold up better.
Engine Soundtrack
An early (circa 1999) experiment with fuzzed out guitars and a super-compressed mix, pushing ambient towards industrial. Psycho-shoegazer?
Trees + Herbs Just Got Easier
cloeburner and I used to be in an improv noise rock band called cloeburner. When I listen to this song, I think of a majestic bald eagle, sinking slowly into a pool of lava and contemplating its own mortality. I hope you will, too.
Surface Waters
Drifting across the waves. Some live experimental guitar ambience.
