Gaffer Tape and Glue
I read a friend's blog this morning and she had a line in there about how she felt like her heart was stuck together with gaffer tape and glue.
10 minutes later I had this, another 20 and I had recorded it using Garageband and my mac's internal mic.
As I haven't written anything in about two years, I'm pretty happy with this writer's block break.

Spanish Moss
The proverbial seeds of this song were planted when I visited Savannah, Georgia at the beginning of the month and found myself captivated by the ubiquitous plant life named in the title.
Later, when I was working on lyrics and couldn't think of a second verse, my bandmate Mel reminded me of a dream my friend Kathy had in which I killed a guy and hid him behind a couch. The end result may be disproportionately creepy, but I rather like it. [more inside]

Kingsfold
The English folk tune Kingsfold rendered very simply in synths. Incidentally, it is also the tune to the hymn I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say, and almost identical to the Irish folk song, Star of County Down. The melody occurs elsewhere in European folk music, I believe.
