ninety second instrumental
Back at work as resident composer for a Tokyo fashion house... this time they want four 90-second instrumental spots, for web presentations. Handed this one in to them the other day, but they nixed it: too dramatic, just not right for the project. So, back to the drawing board. Thought I'd put it here, though, so as not to consign it to the Land of Unheard Music.

*Yet* another short, syrupy-melancholic instrumental. This time with extra dobro. [more inside]
Movie Credits instrumental
Kind of an eerie repetitive theme that I think sounds like it could be heard at the end of some kinda spooky, horror, thriller'ish type of movie

The Falcon and The Showman
Background music for watching footage of the Balloon Boy balloon sailing along.
MandyDance
This is... baroque electronic dance rock? Well, perhaps. I think it will keep you entertained for 5 minutes, at any rate. There are a lot of things that go whoosh, a thing that goes ping, and rather a lot of things doing things near the end. [more inside]
Night Sparrow's Confusion Song
My foray into composing music electronically. [more inside]
Haunted Backyard
Halloween music for choreographed skeletons, skeletons on bikes in the B part.
oslo nights
This is a quiet, meditative, minimalist instrumental piano piece, with occasional visits by vibes, fretless bass and lap steel guitar. You might want to play it somewhat loudly to hear some of the softer notes. Do you think it's finished, or should I add something? [more inside]
Introvertigo
Everyone's afraid of falling inside. Especially so when alone.
Instrumental, post-apocalyptic, cthulhutronica. [more inside]

Plotting a Caper
The theme to a spy movie that was never made.
first step
An instrumental track that went under the working title "pseudo-eastern." Most prominently features guitars, lap steel, fretless bass and programmed sitar sounds. The subtle percussion is a spinner ring kind of like this one, run through a healthy dose of reverb. [more inside]
Eleusinian Mystery
The premier performance of my beloved Pearl Bass Flute. AskmeaboutLOOM is up to his usual tricks on delay.
Cielo
A short guitar instrumental, written in a convent, during a heat-wave in 2003. [more inside]

Message in the Sand
This is a little instrumental number I made up. I'm trying to convince my bandmates to perform it. The guitar tone and the melodic simplicity may qualify it as Surf Music. [more inside]
somewhere between cliffs and on
My vague memory of an aphex twin melody on this here banjo that I don't really know how to play. Took me a while to figure out which tune(s) I was thinking of. [more inside]
Sunburst
Another instrumental in a tuning I can't even remember.
Brass Balls
Just having fun really. [more inside]
Enceladus
Originally planned as a mix between 70's J.M. Jarre and Steve Reich. Turns out to be more like Giorgio Moroder teaming with Tangerine Dream, on a bad day. [more inside]
Untitled Interlude
One patch, one take.
Medieval
A slow, two line piece on classical guitar, not really in a medieval style but I wasn't sure what else to call it! Hope everyone who takes the time to listen to it enjoys it. [more inside]

Every Day
Another laid back instrumental guitar piece. I recorded a lead line for it, actually I probably recorded about 10, but then decided it was nice enough by itself. Hope you all agree and enjoy it!
Twin Butte
Melancholy
A laid back, relaxed instrumental nylon string guitar piece, just for something new for me :) Hope its enjoyed by all.

I had some downstairs neighbors for which I was the semi-regular entertainment. [more inside]
face to face to face
Two days ago I shot some video: a reflection of a man riding a Tokyo train, watching another moving train (a shinkansen) pass by on a parallel track. I made this music today, to serve as accompaniment for the 58-second film. I uploaded the video earlier this evening to YouTube here.
Unrecognisable-lullejah
Instrumental nylon string guitar, borrowing harminocally from Mr Cohen, but in my own style. Hope everyone enjoys it. [more inside]

A cover of some music not written by Leonard Cohen [more inside]
Festivo
An upbeat, fast instrumental guitar piece, inspired by some of the music I've been listening to recently. Hope its enjoyed by all!
Seven Eight
Instrumental guitar piece in 7/8 time signature - took a lot of concentration and I think it shows, not the most expressive piece but its melodic and flows better than I expected.
Hope its enjoyed by all!
