7/8 is usually thought of as an aggressive time signature — for the likes of harder jazz, metalcore, and Stravinsky. But here I'm using it in a ballad. The melody playfully bounces and trips over itself in 7/8, blushing and giggling around its crush while trying to be smooth with racing thoughts and too much to say. Still trying to find the right words and vocalist.
On February 11th, 1963, the poet Sylvia Plath committed suicide. This is the song the elderly painter, Mr Thomas, who lived in the flat below hers, did not write about the event. An odd little ballad in 7/8. [more inside]

The only good thing about having a sore throat is that for a brief window of time I can hit some low notes. Despite the title, this is not a murder ballad but a song about the day I realized Ms. unSane might (eventually) become Mrs unSane. If I was to describe this song with sarcastic overtones, I would say this is a regular run-of-the-mill ageispolis techno song. Well, it's not. This song is anything but typical of what I usually produce. Vocals, emotion, melody, structure... christ, what's gotten into me!?
