Oh, um, jessamyn, you don't want to do that, that's how it spreads. I appreciate your enthusiasm, thank you, really, but you should probably keep an eye on your lymph nodes for a while, there. Sorry.
But seriously, thanks everybody. You metafilter folks have been my best friends through this mono thing (not counting the juice). posted by buriednexttoyou at 8:24 PM on

I can't really tell if the artist is channelling contemporary quirky popsters like They Might be Giants, going avant garde like Daniel Johnston, or recalling the old country blues of Robert Johnson. It seems rife with nods and allusion. Having said that, the straightforwardness of the exposition is indeed humorous as the composer has created a world which seemingly mirrors the everyday concocted world, where people tend to look much too deeply into mundane issues and try to explore eschatological concepts that may or may not be there. Then again, whence beans? Why beans? Why not, hamburger, or carrots, or cookies? Is the half-simple protein nature as well as their high fiber content the thing here? It would seem if we were looking for something truly mundane and dull, a better choice might be potatoes. A simple starch, bland, etc, and not at all containing the rich complexity that may varieties of flavors and complex carbohydrates that beans have. posted by psmealey at 6:43 AM on
