Go

The first version of this song was written back in the late '80s and was some sort of power ballad. Twenty years later, I took the main chord progression and turned it into an ultra-commercial '90s alt-pop song instead.

This is a pretty good song, but I feel like the treatment is sort of "in the middle" -- personally, I want it to be either rough-hewn and rawer, or I want it to be more ultra-commercial -- in particular, I want to hear super-lush, pillowy harmony vocals.

But the basic song is solid!

Would be nice to see the lyrics. Not sure what this song is about, exactly. Points for putting together full instrumentation, but I have to agree with Karlos on the overall sound being a little restrained, especailly the first half of the tune. I liked it from about the middle on. Was also thinking it would be interesting to hear a whiskey voice tear into it and with live drums, for instance - or get even more Depeche Mode with it. "Go" would then be real gone.

The high hat is like that guy at the party who's talking too loud and distracting you from the beautiful people. Which is to say, make it quieter and don't hard pan it.
