Not a breakup song, but a relationship-on-hold song.

Story: Boy meets girl. Girl has problems. Girl is afraid of burdening/hurting boy with said problems. Girl says she's gotta work shit out on her own. Boy is sad, but hopeful.

This is a song from an album I'm writing and recording and giving out at christmas for family members. The album's called "Before I Leave Home" because I'm going on an indefinite road trip starting early next year (which is mentioned in the song).

I really like the way the guitar turned out. I like how distant it feels, and the disconnect of the recording between your voice and the strumming. That said, it might be nice for another instrument or track of something to come into the song somewhere.
