steel lotus in stockkeeping

February 14, 2009 7:00 PM

Something blossoms out of something else, it would be ugly on its own, but coming from something so putrid it is sublime.

Made with puredata and ardour on a dyne:bolic Linux system. Custom frequency modulation synth made in PD, controlled with a behringer bcf2000 motorized sliderboard and multitracked in ardour 2.1.

No samples, effects, or post processing except trimming/mixdown.

This is intense. That's great you're using a bunch of free/open source stuff.

wastelands: it appears we are both noise musicians in Portland, Oregon who post tracks on Mefi Music. Perhaps we should meet up and do a collab track?

idiopath, hahaha... that is hilarious. You're really from Portland too? What are the odds?

I'm kind of a misanthrope, especially in winter... the only thing that got me out of my apartment yesterday after weeks of not going out was meeting an extremely hot Chinese girl for breakfast. But, yeah, I'd totally love to share music recommendations and software setups/techniques if nothing else. Maybe pass .wav files back and forth and see what happens.

My email's on my site, linked to from my profile. Drop me a line sometime. And add me on MySpace if you have one. MySpace is a crap site in some ways, but I have found it good for networking, e.g. I have had two electronic musicians from Europe and one from Australia drop me a line out of the blue.
