I like. It's haunting, and sad, and very desloate-americana. posted by Jon_Evil at 11:33 AM on

Thanks, Mr. Evil. Desolate Americana--maybe that's my genre? posted by Jawbones at 4:24 AM on

Desolate-americana, for sure. I loved how you came in with the very simple slide, and then you really surprised me with the electric stuff. This is a really great song, Jawbones. Ooh, love the middle, with that really nice guitar picking. posted by Corduroy at 5:21 PM on

This has just come up in my playlist as I'm listening and I'm astonished by it. I've completely abandoned what else I'm doing to listen. This song deserves way more comments than it's received. I see your website has some more of your songs available: perhaps by posting a few more here, or posting a link to your other stuff when you do post, you can snag a few new ears? Maybe post your lyrics too? I dunno. I'm just flabbergasted this song hasn't received more comment. Surely more than three of us must love it?
In any case, thanks for sharing: the verse starting "sometimes in winter, you get to go home, you get to dress darkly, you hang up the phone" is just stellar. posted by roombythelake at 11:47 AM on

Thanks so much for the lovely compliment, Roombythelake. The website is a work-in-progress that I try to update when I can; posting lyrics is a good idea. I hope you'll spread the word! posted by Jawbones at 6:25 AM on
