Venus in Furz

For the VU&Nico challenge. A good example of Garageband falling into the wrong hands. Also, took liberties with chorus.

WARNING: dangerous tremolo levels

Love the moody/roomy sound of the track, and the rhythmic feel. The vocal verb tends to really push the sibilants up, though: maybe a little de-essing is in order. My Music player is not behaving today, though, so files here aren't loading well. So I've yet to hear the choruses you've taken liberties with!

But be sure to add the mefimusicchallenge tag (as well as, say, VU&N and velvetunderground), so this'll show up with the others

Thanks for the advice flapjax.

I see what you mean. I definitely tend to linger on my "s" sounds too much. I think the mic in my Macbook is part of the problem as well because when I try to use the "reduce s sound" setting on the visual EQ tab, it track only sounds a bit duller without really fixing it. I'll get a proper mic for next month's challenge!

Yeah, that is one menacing verse. The chorus is a bit more jaunty, but it works. I forget how the original sounds, but I'm sure I like this one more.

There's a lightheartedness that speaks out over the darkness--for a second, I almost forgot that I was listening to a song about BDSM.

This is terrifying and soothing at once. Some very cool sounds in there.
