Atmospheric alt-country song about realizing the person you're with would be better off without you.

This is the fifth song off our new album Heart Like Mine and one of my favorites. I especially love the dynamics and the mix of the acoustic guitar with the wash of pedal effects. It's one of those songs I just get lost inside of when we're performing it sometimes, when ending the song feels like waking up out of a dream.

The song was written by the awesome Matthew Ryan and appears on his album May Day.

On a side note, my band is heading out on tour this week, so if you're in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico or Las Vegas, drop by and say hello!!

Yay! I came here tonight to listen to your older songs and here's a new one!

Not familiar with the original, but this is cool -- I like the sweeping noisiness (guitar? synth?) and the plowing momentum, and your backing vox are super.

Thanks Karlos! The noisiness is pretty much all guitar effects pedals, no synth sounds other than the B3 emulator. It's fun to watch him get that wave of sound out of one guitar when we play live. "Plowing momentum" - love that turn of phrase! :)

Whoops, slight correction: This is the fourth song off the album, not the fifth!

Nice! Also not familiar with the original, but I love your arrangement. It sounds like a mix between alt-country, late-aughts indie rock, and some sort of nostalgic late-nineties alt-rock.
