No Tomorrow

Experimental monotony-rock alert. Listen at own risk.

I decided to cap off the contributions from my second RPM challenge attempt "The Bootstrap Gospel" with one of the more challenging compositions. Depending on your temperament you may find the adjective "challenging" extremely charitable and come up with others that you find more apt. I'm really not trying to discourage anyone from listening but if you don't like it after a minute you probably won't like it after seven. A lot of monotonous, droning repetition of a very simplistic progression with a short lyric attenuated over it. Written for a friend who passed away recently.

No Tomorrow

There is no tomorrow for
the one you failed to say goodbye to
here I am struggling to finish
something I said I wouldn't
even try to
Another poet struck down
more sweet words are lost
Sometimes I wonder if
even God pauses to count the cost
There's no tomorrow I've
been waiting 37 years
and every greater ecstasy
came with its batch of
bitter tears
And if we had a thousand years
we still couldn't say enough
I hope at some strange angle
I'll be called upon to call that bluff

lyrics fit rather fantastically with the sound, i must say. this is like franky teardrop's wistful, subdued uncle.

Thanks! I'd never heard Franky Teardrop before.
