I had a bit of fun with this: it's about a relationship gone wrong. I believe that the dual bass part is rhythmically interesting. Double bass and synth bass rhythmically intertwine and are coupled with a synth trumpet. There may be some Brian Eno influences a la The Drop. A collaboration with non-mefite Riadsala, who sometimes records bass for me. This is a pretty strange track, with a lot of effects going on, with a weirdish tempo change into the chorus which is backed by something in the vein of guitar shredding. [more inside]

One of my first attempts with GarageBand. "Outta My Way" is the title song of what I envisioned would be an "album" chronicling my decision to move from Washington, DC to rural Vermont. This particular song was intended to be about my work day.
