Those Aren't Poodles [Greg Nog cover]

I had the day off. I heard the previous song. I started singing it my head like this. I had to share. I am still in my jammas. I am a recalcitrant dog misidentifier, but I'm better known for considering all animals and some human babies gender-neutral.

Paranoid Android

The epic second track off the Roddy's O-Face record. It's pretty hefty compared to the rest of the songs, so make sure you can handle a solid minute and forty five seconds. [more inside]

A Ramones cover from the latest Red On Strike album. For comparison, here's our previous attempt at recording this song, and a video of us doing it live a couple weeks ago.

Subterranean Homesick Alien

In the six months they were together, Roddy's O-Face went through three bassists, the last of whom insisted on being called "The Colonel" at all times. This was a song about the town they were all going to high school in. [more inside]

Karma Police

Here's another Roddy's O-Face track off their Lofi Computer album! If I remember right, Ned wrote this one, and it's about his ex-girlfriend's cop dad and the time he drew a magic marker Hitler stache on her at a party when she passed out, or something like that. [more inside]

Rock The Casbah

What with revolutions going on in the Middle East, this seems like a particularly appropriate song right now. It's a cover of the Clash's fantastic original, although I have to say I'm not sure Joe Strummer would recognise it as being anything close to his creation. Video version is here. [more inside]

Dammit: Reprise

A revision of my earlier version of this cover, since I had a night to burn at school. Bigger, a bit less background noise, a little more banjo.

Flaming Moe's

Written and performed by my old band - Hooray For Everything. This was included in a Simpsons tribute album that sold a boatload of copies. We recorded this in 1997, I think. We began with the lyrics from the song used in the original "Flaming Moe" episode (http://www.snpp.com/episodes/8F08.html) and then made the song our own... When the weight of the world has got you down and you want to end your life. Bills to pay, a dead-end job, and problems with the wife. But don't throw in the tow'l, 'cuz there's a place right down the block... Where you can drink your misery away... At Flaming Moe's.... (Let's all go to Flaming Moe's...) When liquor in a mug (Let's all go to Flaming Moe's...) can warm you like a hug. (Flaming Moe's...) And happiness is just a Flaming Moe away... Happiness is just a Flaming Moe away...
