VCR (Perpetual Bridge)

Another song on the new keyboard. Basically, the loop is four bridge ('fill') rhythms from the keyboard's analog drum kit, so I figure it's a good enough musical joke to submit it for 'bridge'. Anyway. it's kinda made up as I go (as before, live looping with my baby, and it's louder than my last one and attempts to be less sleepy. Critique welcomed, as always.

Yeah, the end... I can match beats with some degree of accuracy, but messed up there. It would be a slightly different beat, still in 6/8, but with different emphasis.
Anyway, listening to it now, the first melody line sounds sad still. I need to figure out what is making it sound minor...

What, you mean that's not good? Sad's not good? For my money, minor is where all the juice is at. In other words, don't change it!

Assuming that critique can be bad or good, I'll say the only thing I can say about this: it's my favorite one of the ones you've posted. I really like No More Parties... and Diagram, and it was really cool to hear you experimenting with Chivalry, but this one sounds more, I dunno, complete perhaps. And I'm with flapjax, you say that about the minors like it's a bad thing. I think the chords of this song are perfect as they are.

I'se jes' kiddin' yuh!
This piece has an undeniable sense of purpose. It is focussed and sure of its mission, even if it does occasionally come to abrupt and unexpected stops. I'm a sucker for 6/8 rhythm feels, and that "fill" pattern you're using, with its triplet at the top of each bar, gives the groove something of that African 6/8 vibe, and that suits me just fine. Only thing I didn't dig was the ending: throwing in that little jumble of disjointed beats at the tail end just didn't make sense for me.
