Herbert Wiltshire

The wind in Belize keeps rattling palm trees.

About five years ago, Belize's Amandala newspaper ran a story with the headline: Police still uncertain on Wiltshire's shooting. Inside it said that the police still didn't know who had shot Herbert Wiltshire, who was sitting at the porch of his house with some friends when someone came and shot him in the knee.

"It was them who shot me" said Wiltshire in the second paragraph. According to him, he was on the porch with some friends when police officers came and shot him, claiming he was an armed burglar they were after.

This song was about all that. It features Lugua Centeno's drums, respectfully taken from his Bumari album. And this is my attempt at Paranda a subgenre of Garífuna music that could easily blow your mind away, as it did mine.

It's so nice to see another song of yours here, micayetoca, and it's even better when it's such a wonderful song. Really amazing.

Man, when you kick out stuff like this it just gives me the biggest smile, seriously. Your vocal accents and guitar are awesome too. (I'm gonna try to learn that guitar stuff!)

Thx a lot guys. It's great to hear that you liked it. I guess I should come back to posting more songs.

And snsranch, if you want to learn that one, here you can find the chords with the lyrics. Not that it's complicated, but that will save you a couple minutes. In that link you can also find another version of the song, done by another one of the band's members.

Thx again for your words to both.
