Underwater Silent Movie

An imaginary soundtrack theme from a silent movie filmed entirely underwater. A short but sweet instrumental track from Tangemeenie's forthcoming "The Gilded Age."

The way it steadily degrades- the timbre becoming rougher, distorted- until about :20 before the end is very cool.

Yeah--this one was meant to be an exercise in development through texture, if that makes any sense. The general idea was just to keep adding new layers on top of the same basic rhythm pattern to achieve a sense of change over time. By the end, when the distorted guitar comes in, the simple repeating pattern that forms the backbone of the piece has been so thoroughly re-contextualized, it disappears--then in the last few seconds it shows up again.

Great tune. When I read "underwater" I immediately thought of "the life aquatic". This little soundtrack has a much deeper feel:) I like it.

This tune always leave me with a feeling of nostalgia for the characters and plot of an imaginary movie. Thanks.
