Kings

An old Magnetic Fields song, replayed and distorted to sound like a new Magnetic Fields song.

In honor of the new Magnetic Fields album Distortion, I took one of my favorite songs from their first album, "Kings," and tried to see what it sounded like as a noisy mess. It sounds like a noisy mess, especially at the end. But also kind of like "Kings."

This is a pretty radical re-imagining! The original is such a weird arrangement.

This doesn't, to me, sound like Distortion-era MF so much as is sounds like you went back in time to 1988 and got a K Records band to record it. Which of course has some merit as well.

Is it just me, or is the mix really heavily off to the left-hand side?

I like this a lot. Nice guitar tone. I like its squished frequency response.
