In the Smoking Section

Exhausted, on an all-too-brief lunchbreak this past Friday, I was smoking a cigarette, watching an ant cart around a dragonfly corpse. And I thought, "Damn. It's a good thing they aren't big enough to carry cigarettes. And that they don't smoke."

The poor audio quality can be attributed to the fact that my shitty computer mic wasn't picking up the ukulele very well leaving me to work with whatever I could find, which was one of them digital notetaker type dealies.

Priceless. I like the noisy ukulele - I doubt ants have very good recording set ups anyway :)

I like the noise too for the same reason as edlundart. It makes it sound like an old recording which adds to it.

Ah! It is the defining Laurie Anderson recording. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. Off her debut album, "Big Science", which was based on a performance art things she'd been doing at the beginning of the 80s.
