When She Got Her Chucks

Not for everyone. Two guitars and bass with some electronic interludes.

I'll call this a journal entry from a person who has a very tenuous relationship with words. I've also been thinking of it as a "not song."

I was in a strange sort of way when I recorded this but still feel like somebody here might like it.

I do! It's very tasty the way it keeps changing up and never settles down, but still maintains its flow. A slight Hampton Grease Band vibe, which is a rare and good thing.

A festival of counterpoint! I love the interplay between the guitars. When the subject of hard-panning tracks comes into conversation, I haven't heard anything positive said about the technique, but the way you've done it here just puts a smile on my face.

Also, I propose that from now on, any music without sung words be referred to as a "not song".

I really like this. It doesn't sound like random noodling to me, but actual parts thrown together, and it makes sense. I like the journal entry from a "person who has a very tenuous relationship with words" concept as well.

I appreciate the comments. This is about as close as I get to publishing my life online. Good thing the online medium is still quite obtuse.

This piece, while it stands on its own, stuck me as more of a sketchbook - i.e. full of ideas that could become other songs or be integrated into other songs. True free expression, truly different - compliments of the highest order.

Those "Chucks" weren't Converse Chuck Taylor Allstars, by any chance?

Nope. Chucks are a drug reference.

Oh, and with reference to AppleSeed's

This piece. . . full of ideas that could become other songs or be integrated into other songs.

Yes. Feel free to do so.
